Tyson Fury has lashed out at WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua. Fury, who makes his Las Vegas debut on June 15 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, will face Tom Schwarz.

 

The contest will be the first for Fury as part of his deal with Top Rank and ESPN.

 

Joshua faces late replacement Andy Ruiz on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

 

Fury claims Joshua is not willing to face anyone worth of relevance.

 

Fury’s name rose up in the sport after he shocked then heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in November of 2015. Klitschko is also the biggest win in the career of Joshua, from April of 2017, but the Ukrainian fighter was 40-years-old by that point, and he was coming off a career-high layoff that began when lost to Fury.

 

“Joshua is in my rear view mirror,” Fury said to Declan Taylor. “He’s stuck in a certain year. The big fights ain’t happening for him.

 

“He needs to grow a set of nuts and step up to the plate instead of talking about fighting the heavyweights and actually fight some. People are sick of hearing all the same stuff with him – grow up and step up to the plate and fight somebody.

 

“You have to prove yourself in the boxing ring, that’s how boxing works. I’ve had to prove myself time and time again. Step up and fight somebody. That’s how the cookie crumbles.”

 

Fury is looking forward to the start of his relationship with Top Rank’s CEO Bob Arum. Fury’s lead promoter is Frank Warren of the UK.

 

“I said to Bob, ‘what’s your motivation for this deal?’ He told me he wants to ride a massive wave of success with Tyson Fury and I’ll say that motivates me as well. I want to ride a massive tidal wave, a tsunami, of big fights. That’s what I want to do,” Fury said.

 

“I want to cement my legacy of the greatest of my era and my division.”
