Unbeaten featherweight Rilwan “Real Show Boy” Lawal (8-0, 4 KOs) will face Fatai ‘Prince’ Nurudeen (6-7, 3 KOs) for the vacant National and West Africa featherweight titles on January 26 at Rowe Park Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.
It will be the first championship fight for Lawal, an Accra, Ghana-based Nigerian soldier, since he turned pro in 2017.
Nurudeen will be seeking to end his four fights winless streak, three of the losses came at the hands of Otto Joseph and the most recent occurred in his last bout, to Ridwan Oyekola on December 28, 2018.
The card is the fourth in the series dubbed “Lasgidi Fight Night,” promoted by Saleh Gloves Promotions in conjunction with Unboxx Sports, in association with Freels and Threels promotions.
In the co-feature, Taiwo “Gentle Boy” Olowu will slug it out against Kazeem “Jombo” Ariyo for the vacant National welterweight title.
Olowu is unbeaten at 6-0 (5 KOs). This will be his first fight at Rowe Park since his pro debut, when he won a six-round unanimous decision over Ibukun Opaaje in March 2018.
Ariyo has a record of 4-8 (3 KOs). His last two losses were to African Champion, Olajide Fijabi.
There will be a total of four title bouts are on the card in the first Nigeria boxing event of 2020.
Samuel “Blockbuster” Opaogun (5-1, 4 KOs) will take on Waliu “Oganla” Arogundade (0-5) for the vacant National light welterweight title.
It’s a rematch for both boxers and a revenge mission for Arogundade who lost to Opaogun in March 2018 via unanimous decision.
Suleiman Jafaru will keep a date with an opponent yet to be confirmed for the National super welterweight title.
Jafaru is unbeaten in 3 fights, all coming by way of knockout.

Godday “Zod” Appah (3-0, 3 KOs) vs Olarewaju “Success” Segun (2-0, 1 KO) in a National light heavyweight title eliminator bout.
WBF Africa Cruiserweight Champion Tony “Sugar” Salam (13-2, 8 KOs) will be featured in a non-title, eight-round contest with an opponent to be determined.
National light heavyweight champion, Adewale “Masevex” Masebinu (4-3, 4 KOs) will hope to bounce back after he was surprisingly knocked out by the aforementioned Olanrewaju on December 28, 2019 on GOtv Boxing Night 20. He will be featured in a non-title, eight-round contest against an opponent to be determined.
Lasgidi Fight Nihgt 4 is sanctioned by Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) and West Africa Boxing Union (WABU).
Gates will open at 12 noon with the first bout is scheduled for 2:00 pm.
There will be free entrance to the first 100 fans to arrive at the venue.
