Nigerian boxer, Taiwo Agbaje, says he is eager to win more fights after claiming victory in his first professional bout since moving to the United Kingdom.
Agbaje defeated his Spanish opponent Jayro Duran at the University of Bolton Stadium on Sunday.
Agbaje, popularly known as ‘Esepo,’ has been out of the ring since his last fight in December 2019 due to a ban on sporting activities in Nigeria, following the outbreak of COVID-19.
The PUNCH reported that the boxer signed a deal with signed a professional contract with UK-based OHN Consultancy Limited in November 2020.
Agbaje, the winner of the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy for the best boxer at GOtv Boxing Night 20, was at his best as he defeated his opponent on points in a six-round bout.
Speaking with The PUNCH, Agbaje said he was fired up and ready for more wins.
“It feels good to be in the ring again after a very long time. And it feels even better that I emerged the winner in what was my first fight since 2019.
“Duran was a tough opponent but I was also well prepared too and I can day there has been a lot of improvement from the way I last fought.
“My morale is high and I am ready for more fights and wins. I just hope it happens soon.”
