Streetwise Management CEO, Michael-Amoo-Bediako, has refuted the claims made by Ghana bantamweight Duke Micah.
In an interview with BoxingAfrica.com (read here: https://www.boxingafrica.com/2020/12/duke-micah-explains-why-he-lost-in-world-title-bid/), Micah claimed Amoo-Bediako, his manager, was the primary catalyst for his third-round TKO loss to WBO World Bantamweight Champion John Riel Casimero last September.
“I realized my manager was cheating me by the amount of money he was taking from my fight check,” Micah said. “People like Andre Rozier confirmed that to me when I complained, so I took the decision to stop him from coming closer to me and that was why he wasn’t at my fight with Casimero.
“How do I win a fight when my whole family was against me during the preparation for the biggest fight of my career? My manager succeeded in ruining my family and as I speak to you now, I’m yet to sort issues out with my mother, brother and wife.”
On Tuesday, Amoo-Bediako and his legal counsel responded to the BoxingAfrica.com article with the following message:
Dear Boxing Africa,
I have read your article today with Duke Micah making defamatory claims against me. I strongly refute all these claims and will be seeking legal advice.
I haver copied my lawyer in this email and you will be hearing from him in due course.
Kind Regards,
Michael Amoo-Bediako Snr.
