Undefeated featherweight Sakaria Lukas of Namibia will make his U.S. debut versus former world champion Jessie Magdaleno this Saturday, March 14, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds and will take place at the Hulu Theater in the Garden.
Nicknamed “Desert Storm,” Lukas, 35, 23-0 (16 KOs), will be taking on the toughest test of his career as he faces the 28-year-old Magdaleno, the former WBO world super bantamweight champion who has won two straight since moving up to featherweight.
Speaking to neweralive.na, Imms Moses, Lukas’ trainer and founder of AC Boxing Academy, said his fighter is ready for the tough task that lies ahead.
“I am confident ‘Desert Storm’ will take this one,” said Moses. “It is a huge fight and a great opportunity for him [Lukas] and [I am] just happy training went as per plans. I know he is going to win; that’s why we decided to take the fight because we know this is the type of competition we’ve been looking for.
“We know what we are doing; we have done our homework, and now it’s time to take it to the world. I believe the fight will favour him.”
