Seven-time Trainer of the Year and International Boxing Hall of Fame inductee says former world bantamweight champion Isaac “Royal Storm” Dogboe is the next Manny Pacquiao.
Ghana’s Dogboe is now being trained by the renowned Roach, who guided Pacquiao from former world champion to boxing icon.
Said Roach: “Isaac, my next champion of the world. Came from the U.K., now training at Wild Card [Boxing Gym]…next world champion, next Manny Pacquiao.”
The two have known each other for years as Dogboe explained in the video. A young “Royal Storm” sparred at Wild Card early in his career. Now they have joined forces once again.
Roach is eager to take on the reclamation project. When he Pacquiao first showed up at Wild Card, he was a former two-time world champion who had been stopped only two years before. In their first fight together, they scored a shocking TKO win over South Africa’s Lehlo Ledwaba to make Pacquiao world champion once again. Pacquiao, at 40, is still going strong with Roach by his side.
Now, Isaac Dogboe, fresh off back to back losses, seeks to do the same. Stay tuned to BoxingAfrica.com for more details.
