Former three-time world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis knows all about heavyweight upsets. Lewis, a 1988 Olympic gold medalist, burst onto the boxing scene in 1992, when he shocked onlookers with a second-round KO of the favored Donovan “Razor” Ruddock.
Lewis was also on the wrong end of major upsets, suffering KO losses at the hands of Oliver McCall in 1994 and Hasim Rahman in 2001. Lewis would avenge both of those losses and is one of the few fighters in boxing history to have beaten every man he ever faced.
None of those losses were on par with Andy Ruiz Jr.’s stunning seventh-round TKO win over previously-undefeated unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
