It’s going down Saturday night at the Star in Frisco, Texas as Ghana’s Richard Commey and Russia’s Isa Chaniev duke it out for the vacant IBF world lightweight title.
Both fighters made weight comfortably. Commey, 27-2 (24 KOs), tipped the scales at 134.3lbs, shy of the 135-pound limit. This is the Ghanaian’s second world title appearance. In September 2016, he lost a controversial split decision to American Robert Easter Jr. for this same vacant IBF title.
Russia’s Chaniev, 13-1 (6 KOs), will be fighting for a world title for the first time. He came in at 134.6lbs.
