The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF) has released its star boxers over the past eight years, with performance in international competitions as the basic yardstick.
Suleimana Tetteh (52kg) is currently the skipper of the national amateur team, the Black Bombers. Tetteh won gold at the Africa Zone One in 2011 and the ECOWAS Games in 2012, along with silver at the 2015 Africa Championship and a quarterfinal finish in the 2018 Commonwealth games.
Umar Abdul Wahid (60kg) won bronze at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, and participated in the All African Games and Olympic Games 2016.
Lartey Jessie Lartey (64kg) won gold at the Africa Zone One in 2011, gold in the 2012 ECOWAS Games, and bronze in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Prior to that, he was a quarter-finalist in the 2014 Commonwealth Games. He has been named Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Amateur Boxer of the Year and also won the 2018 Hallmark Sports Excellence Award as Best Amateur Boxer.
Musa Lawson Rahman (75kg) was a gold medalist at the 2012 ECOWAS Games, bronze at the African Championship in 2015 and participated at the All African Games and Olympic Qualifiers.
Mohammed Azumah (69kg) also won gold at Africa Zone 1, bronze at the Africa Olympic Qualifiers and a quarterfinal appearance at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Ampiah Akimos Annang (49kg) was a bronze medalist at the All African Games in 2015 and bronze again at All African Games / Olympic Games 2016 Qualifier (Quarterfinals).
Samuel Yaw Addo (56kg), reached the quarters at the 2018 Commonwealth Games 2018.
