Following his impressive 12-round unanimous decision over the previously-undefeated Miguel Flores, WBA world super bantamweight champion Danny Roman called out the other titleholders in the division for unification.

 

“I would like to unify,” he said. “I would like to challenge any of the champions. I’d love to face Rey Vargas or Isaac Dogboe. I don’t mind going back to Japan either.”

 

Ghana’s Dogboe (19-0, 13 KOs), the WBO world super bantamweight champion, immediately responded on Twitter.

Dogboe, 23, won the title in April, scoring an 11-round KO over then-undefeated beltholder Jessie Magdaleno.

 

The 28-year-old Roman, 25-2-1 (9 KOs), solidified his position as one of the world’s best with his victory over Flores last Saturday at the Star in Frisco, Dallas. The bout was the co-feature to the main event featuring undefeated Errol Spence Jr. defending his IBF world welterweight title versus undefeated mandatory challenger Carlos Ocampo.

 

Spence blew out Ocampo in one. Mexican-American Roman was equally sharp against the tough Flores, breaking him down to the body and flaunting exquisite boxing skill en route to a decision by scores of 120-108, 118-110 and 116-112.
