Approximately 9,400 people packed the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, to watch Saul “Canelo” Alvarez and WBA/WBC & IBF World middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin step on the scales.
Golovkin wore his black shorts and smiled as he stepped on the scale first weighing the 160-pound (72.5 kg) middleweight limit for Saturday’s world title fight against Alvarez at the T-Mobile Arena.
Alvarez was up next, climbing onto the scales in his blue shorts and registering the same 160 pounds for a bout that has all the makings of a fight of the year.
