Yetunde Odunuga, a Nigerian female amateur boxer, took home the gold medal in the women’s lightweight category at the Africa Confederation Boxing Championship in Brazzaville, Congo.
Odunuga (pictured right) is an army officer in her native Nigeria. She is the only boxer from her country to win a medal at this AIBA qualifying tourney.
With the victory, Odunuga qualifies for AIBA’s World Boxing Championship, to be held in Berlin, Germany in August.
