Less than 24 hours remain until “Explosive Fight Night” ignites.
In the main event, Ghana’s Obadai Sai will throw down versus Namibia’s Walter Kautondokwa for Kautondokwa’s WBO Africa middleweight title and the vacant IBF Africa crown.
Sai-Kautondokwa is set to take place tomorrow night in Accra, Ghana’s Bukom Boxing Arena. Gates are expected to open at 5:00 PM. It will also be aired on GTV Sports+ at 8:00 PM.
Both fighters tipped the scales at 160lbs and were brimming with confidence afterward. If Kautondokwa is concerned about fighting outside of Namibia for the first time–and in Sai’s native country–it doesn’t show.
“I’m ready for battle,” he declared. “I’m not intimidated by the crowd because the crowd will not enter the ring with Obodai Sai.”
“At the end of the fight I will still be called the WBO Africa middleweight champion,” he continued. “That means I will be defending my title, no matter what.”
“I want Kautondokwa to know that he has come at the wrong time,” a defiant Sai stated. “He will not go beyond round six. I will stop him and that is a promise. I want all the fans to come to the arena in their numbers.”
Lions Promotions are the lead promoters for this clash between two of the premier African boxing countries. Kautondokwa is promoted by the Namibia-based MTC Sunshine Boxing Promotions outfit.
Tomorrow night, one fighter will back up their talk and make their country proud. Stay tuned.
