Pizza King and Wishbone director Ravindra Nath is the major sponsor for Fiji Amateur Boxing Association.
This was after Fiji Car Club racing champion signed an $180,000 deal for three years with FABA president Manasa Baravilala in Suva last night.
The association will receive $60,000 each year which would assist them with the development of the sport in the country.
Baravilala acknowledges Nath for his tremendous assistance.
“This sponsorship really speaks volume of the man who is sponsoring an association which has never had a sponsor for a long time,” Baravilala said.
“This is a historical milestone for us.
“On behalf of FABA we thank Nath and we look forward to be working with him. This kind gesture will go a long way in developing our boxers.”
Nath was also excited to be part of the amateur boxing family.
“I sponsored a lot of sports like netball and rugby in the past,”he said.
“When I was approached by Fiji Boxing I told them I would look at the proposal first.
“I finally agreed on a three- year deal $60,000 each year. I know for minor sports, it’s hard to get sponsors so I thought to go ahead and help.”
