MTC Nestor Sunshine Promotions’ last boxing bonanza of the year, scheduled for December 2, is an event not to be missed. Sakaria Lukas, Jeremiah Nakathila and Harry Simon Jr. will top the bill and, according to promoter Nestor Tobias, they are all ready to deliver.
“They all look in great shape and are certainly more than ready to do battle and finish the year on a high,” he said.
The bonanza titled, “Desert Storm in Action,” will take place at the Windhoek Country Club and general tickets sell for only N$200 while a VIP table sells for N$10 000.
There will be two WBO African titles on the line with Lukas defending his WBO featherweight title against Dithebe Tello of South Africa, who is the current WBA Pan African featherweight champion, and Nakathila defending his WBO Africa junior lightweight title against Sibusiso Zingange of South Africa.
Lukas said he was honored to headline the main event of the night and even more honored to have it named after him.
“This is going to be a big night for me against another champion and the most important fight given my current world ratings,” he noted. “I am more than prepared and would like to thank the team behind me for setting me up for greatness and I promise nothing but a win on the night against Tello.
Nakathila, who recently swapped nicknames from “No Respect” to “Low Key,” said he needs to do justice to this change by winning the fight and doing so in style.
“It’s all about hard work and dedication. What you see on the night is just a result of all the hard work and hours we put in, and I promise to do well and keep on winning.
Many boxing fans will also look forward to seeing the young Harry Simon Jr. in only his fourth professional fight.
“I am looking forward to this fight and I can feel myself growing and making good progress under MTC Sunshine Promotions, said Simon Jr. “I am taking things easy and not putting any unnecessary pressure on myself. I will step in the ring and focus only on winning, because that is all that matters.”
Besides these three fights there will also be six other fights on the undercard.
Tickets are available from Computicket, the MTC Nestor Sunshine boxing office and Antonio’s Art shop in Post Street Mall.
