Nigeria may have something special in WBC silver featherweight champion Elizabeth Oshoba.
The 24-year-old Oshoba, one of the best female boxers from Africa today, has amassed a 7-0 (4 KOs) record. On January 13, she captured the WBC silver title with a 10th-round TKO win over Italy’s Michela Braga at Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Oshaba has primarily fought in Europe the past couple years, where she is quickly building an impressive rep. Prior to the win over Braga, her previous four fights took place in the UK, including her notable November 2023 decision over Italy’s Martina Righi in Swindon, England.
Oshaba’s success as a pro comes as no surprise. An accomplished amateur, she won a silver medal in the featherweight division at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She is now on the verge of a world title shot – and making a name for herself among the greatest female boxers to ever emerge from Africa.
