According to a modernghana.com report, WBO Africa featherweight champion John Laryea will be relocating abroad to train going forward.
Laryea, who is coached by Lawrence Carl Lokko of Bronx Boxing Club in Accra, will look to train either in the United States, the UK or in South Africa. According to the report, Lokko and Laryea manager Samuel Anim Addo are the driving force behind this decision, both believing that the experience of training outside of Ghana will make for a more well-rounded fighter and increase the odds of the fighter winning a world title.
Laryea (12-0-1, 10 KOs) last fought in October, stopping Gabriel Odoi Laryea in the 12th round at Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra. He is a strong candidate to win the Sports Writers Association of Ghana 2023 Award for Pro Boxer of the Year.
