Unified World Super Bantamweight Champion Stephen Fulton and three-division champion Naoya Inoue will now face off Tuesday, July 25, at Ariake Arena in Tokyo, Japan.
Fulton and Inoue, two undefeated fighters widely considered among the very best pound for pound, were originally slated to fight on Sunday, May 7 at Yokohama Arena in Yokohama.
The fight was postponed due to a training injury suffered by Inoue. Fulton, the WBC and WBO 122-pound World Champion, will now head to enemy territory in July instead. Fulton (21-0, 8 KOs) will make his third world title defense and second as a unified champion since defeating Brandon Figueroa in one of the best fights of 2021.
Inoue (24-0, 21 KOs), the man many consider the sport’s pound-for-pound king, is a three-division world champion who is making his super bantamweight debut after defeating Paul Butler last December to become the undisputed bantamweight world champion.
