Former unified lightweight world champion Teofimo Lopez and Pedro Campa made weight on Friday for their showdown Saturday night at the Resorts World Event Center at Resorts World Las Vegas.
Lopez, 25, 16-1 (12 KOs) came in at 138.8 while the unheralded Campa weighed 139.4. The 30-year-old Campa possesses a 34-1-1 (23 KOs) record but is a huge underdog against the talented Lopez as this is his first time stepping up to this level and hasn’t been as successful when he fought better opposition. The event headlines an ESPN card beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
In the chief support, 19-year-old Puerto Rican sensation Xander Zayas 13-0 (9 KOs) faces Elias Espadas in eight-round super welterweight action. Zayas weighed 153-pounds at Friday’s weigh-in to Espadas’ 153.6. Check out video of yesterday’s weigh-in below:
