WBC/IBF Champion Artur Beterbiev and WBO Champion Joe Smith Jr. both made weight for their light heavyweight unification bout Saturday night from Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The 37-year-old Beterbiev (17-0, 17 KOs), who is based in Montreal, Canada but is originally from Russia, came in at the division limit of 175 pounds. New York’s Smith, 32, 28-3, (22 KOs) weighed in at 174.6 pounds.
In the 10-round chief support, Robeisy Ramirez came in at 125.8 pounds while Abraham Nova weighed 125.4 pounds for their featherweight battle.
