Don’s Boxing Promotions will kick off the new year with a triple-header of Commonwealth eliminators, set for Saturday, February 13, at the Seconds Out Boxing Gymnasium in Accra.
The first of the three encounters see the birthday boy, former holder of the Commonwealth title, and the current WBO Africa champion Obadai Sai as he entertains John Akrugu (16-6, 15 KOs), with the winner set to battle the champion in the United Kingdom.
Nicknamed ‘the Miracle Sai,’ the Ghanaian still entertains a total record of 39 career fights, 35 victories, 26 of those wins recorded by way of the knockout with just 3 defeats and a solitary draw.
In no particular order, second on the bill pits are undefeated 28-year-old Nigerian Professional boxer, Joseph Oto (16-0, 7 KOs) against a 33-year-old Ghanaian knockout boxer with two defeats Anama Dotse (18-3, 17 KOs) in the Lightweight Commonwealth Boxing elimination.
Crowning the bill is another Commonwealth Boxing Council (CBC) eliminator between Ago Ashong of Ghana versus Matthew Obina from Nigeria, a deadly puncher with a one hundred percent knockout record in all his 11 fights so far.
This important promotional bill is on the wings of Don’s Promotions bankrolled by an accountant and businessman politician Michael Nii Yarboi. The syndicate is set to launch the biggest boxing tournament for boxing and other contact sports dubbed ‘Africa Ring Challenge’.
