Mexican superstar Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has joined the fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, by making a significant donation to those fighting on the front line.
Canelo has displayed his good hearted nature on various occasions, as he gave his support to children with cancer, sick people and those affected in Mexico by an earthquake.
On this occasion, Canelo donated 950 personal protection kits for health workers at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara who personally tend to Covid-19 infected citizens.
Jaime Andrade Villanueva, Director General of Guadalajara hospitals, was overwhelmed by the donation and announced that the world champion contributed KN95 masks, overalls and eye goggles.

Via social media, each member of Deportes Unidos por México initiated the task of finding a representative from the Mexican sector to pass on a heartfelt tribute. Thus, goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa, race drivers Adrián Fernández and Esteban Gutiérrez, Ramón Díaz – the coach of Capitanes, Liliana Mercado and Katty Martínez – who are players of the Club Tigres women’s team, Lady Shani – a Lucha Libre wrestler for AAA Worldwide, Mariana “Barbie” Juárez – longtime world boxing champion, among others, surprised Mexican fans and gave them words of encouragement, as well as some gifts ranging from tickets to their events, to team shirts and special kits.
