According to a report by TMZ Sports, the daughter of five division world champion Floyd Mayweather – Iyanna Mayweather – has been arrested for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Iyanna had a confrontation with another woman over rapper NBA Youngboy (real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden).
TMZ states Iyanna is currently in Houston’s Harris County jail after getting arrested at 1:30AM on Saturday.
Law enforcement sources indicate that the alleged victim and NBA Youngboy were at his home when Iyanna arrived and told the woman, Lapattra Lashai Jacobs, that she was Youngboy’s fiancee and Jacobs should leave the house. Jacobs then told Iyanna to leave.
It’s being alleged that the argument moved into the kitchen, where it’s being claimed that Iyanna was holding two knives.
According to TMZ, Jacobs stepped toward Iyanna and Iyanna charged at her with one of the knives. Jacobs told local police that she didn’t feel the first knife wound but then she said Iyanna charged at her with the second knife, stabbing her again.
When EMTs arrived, Jacobs was laying on the floor. She was taken to the hospital. Her condition is unknown at the moment.
NBA Youngboy, who was home at the time when law enforcement and EMTs arrived, was briefly handcuffed – presumably as a precautionary measure – before being released.
Iyanna told police Jacobs had incited her by initially pulling her hair outside the house and then running into the kitchen, where the confrontation continued. Iyanna also told police she had never met Jacobs before.
Mayweather himself is no stranger to controversy and personally was involved in several legal cases where assault was claimed. In 2011, Mayweather was sentenced to serve 90 days in the county jail as part of a plea deal. In that incident it was being claimed that he assaulted Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children (including Iyanna), during a confrontation in September 2010. Harris passed away last month.
