Namibia’s Paulus Ambunda will make his US debut tonight, May 11, against dangerous undefeated prospect Stephen Fulton at EagleBank Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.
The bout is part of a stacked show, headlined by undefeated, WBA and IBF World Super Welterweight Champion “Swift” Jarrett Hurd (23-0, 16 KOs) defending his title against top-rated contender Julian “J-Rock” Williams (26-1-1, 16 KOs). The bout will be televised in the U.S. by network giant FOX, courtesy of Premier Boxing Champions.
Ambunda, 27-2 (11 KOs), is the former WBO world bantamweight champion. But at 38, he is the underdog against the 24-year-old Fulton who, at 15-0 (7 KOs), is considered one of boxing’s hottest prospects.
Yet Ambunda seeks to do what predecessors Julius Indongo, Walter Kautondokwa and Paulus Moses failed to do in their attempts: Win on American soil.
