Two WBA Pan-African title fights take place at the Carousel Casino in Hammanskraal on Friday night with Sibusiso Zingange going in against Nataneal Sebastian for the vacant WBA pan-African junior-lightweight title, and, in a clash for the vacant WBA pan-African featherweight title, Jeff Magagane meets Tello Dithebe.
Sebastian has come in as a late replacement for Rofhiwa Maemu.
It could be a tough match for the 26-year-old Zingange who has a record of 12-3-2; 3 since making his pro debut in June 2013.
In his first crack at a professional title in September 2015, he lost on points against Aphiwe Mboyiya in a bout for the vacant IBO all-Africa junior-lightweight title. In December 2016 he outpointed the capable Ashley Dlamini (16-4-2) to claim the vacant African Boxing Union junior-lightweight title.
However, on 2 December 2017, in a challenge for the WBO Africa junior-lightweight title, he was stopped in the sixth round by Jeremiah Nakathila (13-1) to suffer his only inside-the-distance loss.
In 2018 he fought to an eight-round majority draw against Anthony Moloisane and a 12-round points win over Prince Ndlovu for the vacant ABU junior-lightweight title.
Sebastian, 10-1; 6, of Namibia, who has had 10 of his fights in his home country in a five-year professional career, is expected to extend the South African.
His only loss came in October last year when he travelled to Singapore and was beaten on points over 12 rounds by Muhamad Ridhwan (8-0) in a bout for the vacant IBO International junior-lightweight title.
In his only fight in 2018 he stopped Dominicus Weyelu in the third round at the Windhoek Showgrounds.
MAGAGANE AND DITHEBE MEET FOR VACANT PAN-AFRICAN TITLE
In the second WBA pan-African title fight on the bill, Jeffrey Magagane, 10-3; 4, meets veteran 11-year pro Tello Dithebe, 20-10; 6, who is coming off three losses, in a contest for the vacant WBA pan-African featherweight title.
On the undercard, Anthony Moloisane faces Kutlwano Ogaketse from Botswana over eight rounds in a junior-lightweight contest and Wilhelm Nebe takes on Wikus Ludeke in a bout scheduled for four rounds in the heavyweight division.
