Two-time former world champion Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko is set to defend his WBO Africa bantamweight title against Shabani Hashimu Zuberi on Friday, February 15, at the Aborigines Beach Resort in Keta.

 

The bout will be promoted by Aborigines Promotions, who are calling this card, “The Clash of the Titans.”

 

Agbeko, (35-5, 26 KOs), is currently ranked fourth by the WBO at bantamweight. He successfully made his first defense against Ekow Wilson last September, in the Volta regional capital, Ho.

 

“King Kong” will be making a second defense against Zuberi, 23, a Tanzanian who made his debut in 2014. He has fought 18 times, winning 15 and losing 3 with 5 KOs to his credit.

 

Zuberi will challenge for a title Agbeko won last March, when he defeated Ugandan champion Frank Kiwalabye in Agbeko’s hometown, Aflao.

 

Also on the card is a WBO African middleweight title bout between Ghana-based, Togolese boxer John “Africa Mike Tyson” Koudeha (15-0, 12 KOs) and Tanzania’s Manyi Issa (16-2, 9 KOs).

 

Also scheduled for the night is a National super lightweight title contest between Anama Dotse, also known as “Polo Pala,” (16-2, 15 KOs), and Richard Amenfu (10-5, 7 KOs).

 

Further, Nathaniel Nukpe will engage Tackie Annan in a lightweight contest.
