Heavyweight contender Jarrell Miller is promising to do a lot of damage on WBA, IBF and WBO champion Anthony Joshua.
The two boxers are heading in the direction of a showdown on a date in June, at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Joshua was slated to face Dillian Whyte in a rematch on April 13th at Wembley Stadium in London – but the date was called off after their negotiations broke down.
Last July at a press conference in New York that was hosted by DAZN, Miller confronted Joshua and the two traded words in a face to face manner before being pulled apart.
Miller has been pushing for the bout with Joshua, and let his voice be heard during a recent appearance on Sirius XM Boxing.
“It’s not 100 percent yet,” Miller said. “But I’m really looking forward to punching AJ in the goddamn mouth. So we gonna see.
“I was quiet for a little while, I had to take care of some internal stuff. We’re still having out, you know, these errors. But the ‘AJ’ fight is in the grasp and we’re trying to hash out the last couple of details. It’s not official yet, but I’m thinking it’s like 80 percent [done]. It’s about 80 percent, man. I can’t wait, man.
“He wants to come to America and I think it’s going to be great for USA boxing, especially for American boxing. And like I said before, I’ve been waiting for the moment to shock the world. AJ is a real big hype job. And when he fights a real gritty, hungry, mean person like me, it’s going to be a whole different story, man.
“Listen, AJ did some bogey-a** leaked conversation talking about, ’It looks like he’s going to come to New York’ and dah, dah, dah and it made the internet go crazy. I hope you guys record this one and put this one out here: After I beat AJ I’m still gonna take his mom out on a date. So leak that conversation.”
