Rilwan ‘Real One’ Oladosu picked up a whooping cash prize of N3 million alongside the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial trophy after emerging the best boxer at the 17th edition of the GOtv Boxing Night on Friday, December 28.
On a night where fans were entertained with music and boxing, Oladosu put up a stunning show as he knocked out his opponent Hamzat in the first round to retain his National Lightweight belt. It was a night of technical knockouts as upcoming star Opeyemi ‘Sense’ Adeyemi needed only three rounds to knockout his opponent Saheed Ahmed in the first of the eight bouts on the night.
It was soon the turn of Ebubechukwu Edeh to be treated to heavy punches from his opponent Femi ‘Small Tyson’ Akintayo who emerged winner of the second fight after a fourth-round technical knockout win. Ridwan Oyekola also registered a third-round technical knockout victory against Nurudeen Fatai in the National Super Featherweight challenge.
However, the next bout was going to be stretched down to the eighth round as one of fan’s favorites Otto ‘Joeboy’ Joseph needed an unanimous decision to defeat Hammed Ganiyu, to retain his National lightweight belt. The win helped Fijabi keep his unbeaten record intact and retain his National Lightweight belt. In the two international bouts on the night, US-based Oluwafemi ‘The Eagle’ Oyeleye needed just 59 seconds in the second round to knockout his Ghanaian opponent Victus Kemavor, who failed to put up a good fight to the disbelieve of his opponent.
Oyeleye retained his International middleweight belt following the win and kept his unbeaten record intact. The last bout of the night saw two good boxers fight till the final round (Round 12) as Nigeria’s Seun ‘The Machine’ Wahab needed a unanimous decision to see off challenger Issa Nampepche of Tanzania in the WBF intercontinental Super Featherweight title bout.
Fans were thrilled to a night of fun and action as Nigeria’s top artistes – Daddy Showkey, Seriki, Teni, Wande Coal and Burna boy gave breathtaking performances as they performed some of their hit songs.
