Peter Kahn, former manager of Ghana boxing legend Nana Yaw Konadu, Peter Kahn, is the new advisor for WBO Africa lightweight champion, Emmanuel “Game Boy” Tagoe.
Kahn helped train Tagoe’s uncle, Konadu, while the fighter was stationed in Florida in the mid-1990’s. He’ll be tasked to bring to bear his rich experience in the sport to help Tagoe fulfill his world championship potential.
Speaking after his appointment, Kahn said he was excited to have Tagoe team up with DiBella Entertainment, which he believes is a perfect fit to guide the Ghanaian toward a world title. DiBella Entertainment announced the signing earlier this week.
Kahn opined that with the stable’s ability to work well with other promoters, Tagoe will get the opportunity to challenge for a world title sooner rather than later.
“I’m very excited to have Emmanuel Tagoe team up with DiBella Entertainment,” he said. “DiBella Entertainment is a perfect fit to guide Tagoe towards a world title and with the current landscape of the lightweight division, their stable and their ability to work well with other promoters, Tagoe is going to get his opportunity to fight for a world title. Ghana continues to produce elite level fighters and Tagoe is right in line with the best.”
Tagoe (29-1, 14 KOs), signed a three-year promotional contract with DiBella Entertainment after a recent unanimous decision victory over former Namibian WBA World lightweight titlist, Paulus Moses, at the Bukom Boxing Arena.
The deal will add Tagoe to the DiBella Entertainment stable which already houses fellow compatriot Richard Commey. Commey is set to fight for the vacant IBF world lightweight title versus Isa Chaniev on February 2nd.
