It was a night of knockouts last Friday in the second week of “Bukom Fist of Fury.” All four professional fights at Bukom Boxing Arena ended in stoppages.
Former WBO Africa super welterweight champion, Theophilus Tetteh, dispatched Joshua Barnor in the third round of their six-round contest.
Barnor began the fight on the attack but soon tired. The more experienced Tetteh opened up in the third, dominating the exchanges and scoring two knockdowns en route to his KO victory.
Tetteh showered praises on his trainer, Korley Sulemana during his post-fight interview, attributing his performance to Sulemana’s technical know-how and guidance.
“I give credit to my coach for a good work done because he was the brain behind this emphatic victory,” Tetteh said.
Tetteh added that with his trainer by his side, he was ready to face any opponent in the super welterweight division.
“I am not afraid of any opponent because I am training very hard,” he said. “The only thing I look out for is to get the opportunity to prove myself.”
Also on the card, Richmond Ashley recorded a third round technical knockout over Amos Denteh in a super featherweight contest.
In super middleweight action, debutant Jacob Dickson earned a first round stoppage against Abdul Karim.
Felix Williams stopped his last-minute opponent, Albert Okine, in four rounds. Togo’s Mouibi Sarouna, the original opponent, was a no-show for the night’s event.
Boxing Union (WABU) featherweight title fight
The three-tier boxing league, which is being put together by the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation (GABF), the National Juvenile Board and the Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA), also involved six juvenile bouts and 16 amateur bouts in its second fight night last Friday.
