Ghanaian boxer, Nathaniel Nukpe, who is billed to fight reigning African Boxing Union (ABU) lightweight champion, Oto “Joe Boy” Joseph, for the title at GOtv Boxing Night 15 on 29 July, has declared that his Nigerian opponent will not last three of the 12-round contest.
The bout is the biggest of the seven lined up for the event holding at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo (formerly Liberty) Stadium in Ibadan.
Nukpe, who bragged that home support will not be to the benefit of the Nigerian opponent, said: “I am not coming into Nigeria for a jamboree. I mean business. I will crush Joe Boy. I am coming to take the belt.”
Other cards at the GOtv Boxing Night 15 include a national light welterweight challenge between ABU welterweight champion, Olaide “Fijaborn” Fijabi, and old foe, Kazeem “Iberu” Ariyo; and national cruiserweight clash between Michael “Lion Heart” Godwin and Idowu “ID Cabasa” Okusote.
Also scheduled for the day is the international light middleweight contest between the explosive Akeem “Dodo” Sadiku of Nigeria and Franc Houanvoegbe of Benin Republic.
The event, sponsored by GOtv and Bet King, will be beamed live on SuperSport in 47 African countries. The best boxer at the event will go home with a cash prize of N1 million alongside the Mojisola Ogunsanya Memorial Trophy.
