Golden Boy CEO Oscar De Hoya is feeling the intensity level rising for Canelo Alvarez prepares to lock horns with his main rival on September 15.
Ill-feeling between the Mexican and his last opponent Gennady Golovkin has been escalating all year and will culminate in a rematch one-year on from their first meeting this fall.
From separate press conferences to slanging each other in the media, Canelo’s second helping of war with Golovkin is set to be a must-watch for fight fans.
Speaking regarding his fighter’s state of mind, the former ten-time world champion is sure Canelo is only thinking of one thing when he finally gets ‘GGG’ back in the ring.
De La Hoya said: “There is serious bad blood between these fighters. The fight is personal, and the stakes are high.
“Canelo will without a doubt want to shut Golovkin up, and the only way to do it is by knocking him out on September 15. I have no doubts that our champion will walk away with the victory.”
