According to reports from Ghana, former two-time world champion Joseph Agbeko was gifted a hometown unanimous decision over Uganda’s Fran Kilawabye Friday night in Aflao, Ghana.
Agbeko was supposedly dropped twice, although neither was called by the hometown referee. The 38-year-old veteran looked every bit of his age for the 12 rounds. According to Ghanacrusader.com, ringsiders were stunned to hear him declared the winner. He is now the new WBO Africa Bantamweight champion
The previously-undefeated Kilawabye is understandably disappointed by the outcome. He drops to 15-1 (12 KOs). Agbeko is now 34-5 (25 KOS), but apparently has seen better days.
