Lightweight prospect Sharif Bogere (30-1, 20 KO’s) of Uganda makes his return to Sam’s Town Live against Mexico’s Arturo Santos in 10 rounds of action. This bout marks Bogere’s return to the venue after his recent unanimous decision victory against Jose Luis Rodriguez back in October. The bout will take place on Saturday, January 27th inside Sam’s Town Live, home of Mayweather Promotions’ Sin City Showdown cards. The card is promoted by Mayweather Promotions and marks the first event of the year for the promotional company.
“The Lion has made his return and I do not plan on slowing down, said Bogere. Prior to my last fight I was working on getting my body back in good health, and my last fight was a great tune up to prepare me for tougher opponents. Training camp is always good; I have a great team who pushes me. I am still training and sparring with some really tough guys, my balance and timing has improved, now I am focused on getting stronger and gaining more IQ.”
“This fight is a big fight for me and where I am at in my career, says Santos. It’s always an honor to fight in the U.S., I thank Mayweather Promotions for the opportunity and am prepared to take care of business. I will represent and make my fans back home in Mexico proud on fight night”
Also making his return, is Mayweather Promotions’ entertaining and gritty Welterweight prospect Cameron Krael (12-12-3), who was featured as the co-main event on Bogere’s last card at Sam’s Town Live. Krael is determined to make his return and continue his pursuit in becoming a top contender in the Welterweight division. The Sin City Showdown card will also feature Mayweather Promotions’ talented prospects including undefeated Welterweight Sanjarbek Rakhamanov (9-0-1, 4 KO’s), undefeated Lightweight prospect Xavier Martinez (10-0, 6 KO’s), recently signed Super Bantamweight Angelo Leo (11-0, 7 KO’s) who recently made a spectacular Mayweather Promotions debut with a 4th round KO in November, Super Middleweight prospect Kevin Newman (7-1-1, 3KO’s), Welterweight prospect Maurice Lee (7-1-, 3 KO’s), undefeated Light Middleweight Oluwafemi Oyeleye (4-0, 1 KO), and hard-hitting undefeated Lightweight prospect Rolando Romero (3-0. 3KO’s) all in separate bouts.
“Mayweather Promotions is already carrying the momentum of 2017 into the new year, this card is matched with some of the toughest prospects in boxing, says Leonard Ellerbe, CEO of Mayweather Promotions. Sharif Bogere has worked hard to get to this point in his career. He captures fans with his come-forward aggressive style and charisma. He’s a tough guy. His last fight was a tune up after suffering a major injury, but I believe this fight will not disappoint. We are also excited to bring Cameron Krael back to Sam’s Town, he’s a very tough fighter who continues to gain fans and prove himself in the ring, and he will show that come fight night in the co-main event.”
Originally from Uganda, and fighting out of Las Vegas, Sharif “The Lion” Bogere exhibits an impressive record of (30-0, 20 KO’s). Bogere’s aggressive fight style and quick technique helped him gain 20 victories by KO. The Lightweight prospect is resilient and his skill is undeniable. Prior to suffering a torn Achilles injury in October 2015, an eager Bogere was well on track to getting a world title shot. Unfazed by his adversity, Bogere returned to the ring in October 2017 and snagged a unanimous decision win against one of Mexico’s toughest fighters, Jose Luis Rodriguez. Bogere’s only defeat came in 2013 against Richar Abril when he fought for the WBA World Lightweight title.
Fighting out of Sonora Mexico, Santos is a former 2008 Olympian and junior world champion. Santos has built his career fighting steep competition, recently fighting the likes of WBA champion Abner Mares who defeated him back in 2015, giving Santos the first knockdown of his career, and rising prospect Tevin Farmer last April, where he suffered a unanimous decision loss. The Mexican Lightweight is coming off a tough break with two back-to-back losses, HE however is ready to get back in the ring and get back to the top of the Lightweight division.
At 24-years old, Cameron Krael has made a name for himself becoming a fan favorite in his hometown of Las Vegas. He’s considered the “Gate Keeper” who will fight anyone to showcase his talent and heart. He’s fearless and doesn’t back down, and carries that same demeanor in the ring. Prior to his recent draw against Shoki Sakai in October, Krael was coming off a 4-win streak. Focused and determined, Krael won’t allow anything to derail him in his ascension to becoming a contender in the Welterweight division. Krael is strong, has a tough chin, and has gained his experience through the tough competition he’s faced in the ring.
