The Nigeria Boxing Federation has invited 32 boxers to camp ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia.
According to Ademisoro Bode, the Secretary General of the NBF, 16 male and16 female boxers across eight weight categories will resume camping on December 17 in Lagos.
He said the boxers would remain at the camping site until their departure to Australia for the Games.
Ifeoma Anthony tops the list of female boxers; others are Ayisat Oriyomi, Caroline Linus, Abasi Ama Moses, Tomiwa Sadiku, Yetunde Odunuga, Abibat Ismael, Fadilat Tijani, Oben Blessing, Bola Shogbemu, Rafiat Yaya, Oriola Itunu, Olamide Oluwamuyide, Jacinta U., Adejumola Toyin and Millicent Umu.
For the men, Abayomi Rotimi top the list that includes Sanusi Abiodun, Sikiru Fatai, Henry Effiong, Oluremi Adedokun, Kazeem Soyoye and Ibraheem Aliu.
Others are Paul Patrick, Aminu Lawal, Adegoke Oyekeyede, Shogbamu Waheed, Osita Umeh, Sango Muritala, Lukman Lawal, Dimeji Salami and Idowu Rasheed.
“The boxers were invited based on merit following their performance at the just conclude two – day National Open Championship and Australia 2018 Commonwealth Games trails held at the Brai Ayonote Boxing Gym, National Stadium, Surulere Lagos,” the NBF Sec said.
