The World Boxing Council (WBC) has appointed Sylvia Mokailna of South Africa to officiate the WBC women’s world super bantamweight championship between champion Fatuma Zarika of Kenya and Zambia’s Catherine Phiri.
The bout is scheduled to take place on December 2, 2017 in Nairobi.
Oriental Quarries Boxing Promotions Operations Manager Chris Malunga has confirmed the development.
Malunga says the WBC has also appointed three judges for the fight, who include John Shipanuka of Zambia, Michael Neequaye of Ghana and Lilian Olero from Kenya.
Malunga said Catherine is expected to leave for Nairobi on Tuesday, November 28th. Catherine will be accompanied by her trainer Mike Zulu and Malunga.
