Ilunga ‘Junior’ Makabu took care of latest opponent Mussa Ajibu with minimum fuss as the former WBC cruiserweight title challenger record a 21st career win with a fourth round TKO at Rainbow Towers Conference Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The 29 year-old made it two wins from two comeback bouts since the Congan lost out to Tony Bellew at Goodison Park in the United Kingdom.
Following the fourth round victory, Makabu is focused on climing the rankings further in order to secure a second chance to claim a version of the world crown.
“Now, I’m ready for anybody in a cruiserweight division and I’ll fight them anywhere,” Makabu exclusively told World Boxing News.
“I want to thank all my fans around the world for their support. I concentrate only on my boxing and I leave the total management of my career to my manager Tarik Saadi
“My preparation with my trainer Damian Durandt of the Durandt Gym in Johannesburg, South Africa was first class and had me ready for anything.
“I also thank WBN for giving the possibility to express myself and to warn the world class cruiserweights of the planet that I am coming!
“Makabu is back in force. I thank you and see you soon,” he added.
Manager Saadi had his say on what could be next.
“I am the proud manager of Junior Makabu, who with the difficult times we have faced has always come back fighting.
“I believe in him and I am sure that he will become world champion very soon. That is unless the title-holders refuse to face him!
“We shall have to wait, but shame on them if they make it too difficult for Junior to get his shot,” he said.
